White Rose Birthday Cake

This is the second and final cake for this week. It was made for my cousin’s girlfriend who celebrated her birthday yesterday.

It’s another Rich Fruit Cake with a white and green theme (as green is her favourite colour). My cousin wanted something simple and feminine, so I decided to decorate the cake with some white roses and gypsophila.

I won’t get a chance to speak to her before I do this post, so I hope that she loves the cake!

A Very Merry (belated) Christmas Cake

This is the first of two cakes that I made this week.

It was made for a very close friend of mine. We have a tradition of exchanging Christmas presents in January (you have to try it!) and this was part of her gift, along with a few other goodies.

It’s a Rich Fruit Cake decorated with snowflakes. I made the snowflakes and the writing gold just to add another dimension to an otherwise all white cake.

Bit-B Birthday Cake

The cake I am going to share with you this week was for a gentleman celebrating his 24th birthday. His girlfriend is actually the lady who placed the order. Her only request was that his company logo was displayed somewhere on the cake.

It is a victoria sponge cake filled with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. I made edible print outs of his company logo and attached these to the top and sides of the cake.

Then I piped a yellow border around the logos, which, when it came to piping on the sides of the cake was actually really difficult to do.

Gravity seems to want the piped icing to fall on the floor instead of the side of the cake. So, if any of you kind people would like to treat me to one of these babies below, it will make my life a lot easier and make me a very happy bunny.

No one? I suppose it’ll have to be a late christmas present to myself then!

Until next time guys xx
