Recipe: Spiced Pear Cobbler

Peach cobbler just sounds like the ultimate, most delicious, stereotypical American dessert. I always remember hearing it mentioned on American TV shows and promised myself that one day I would make sure that I tried some of this cobbler for myself. Well now I’m older and I know how to bake, so I decided to make it myself rather than travel across the pond in search of a restaurant that makes this beautiful dessert. Continue reading

21st Birthday Cupcakes

These cupcakes were made for a 21st birthday celebration. The birthday girl already had some large cakes for her party but wanted some cupcakes for the dessert table to offer as an alternative. I decorated some of the cupcakes with a ’21′ made out of fondant and added some sugar pearls to jazz (I like that word) them up a bit.

The flavours were chocolate cupcakes with white chocolate buttercream frosting:

Gift Box Cake

Hello!!! I haven’t blogged any cakes in a while, so I’m going to be doing a few posts today to bring everyone up to speed with that I’ve been up to. Sidebar – have you noticed it’s snowing on my blog? :-)

This first cake was for a family friend’s little girl who turned 3 years old a few weeks ago. I made this cake in the style of a wrapped gift box and used red as the “ribbon” as this was Isis’ favourite colour. Continue reading

Musical Note Cake

Last weekend, London town had some faboulous weather, and so for my dad and sister’s joint birthday party, we had a family BBQ. Naturally, I was in charge of bringing the cakes. My sister had already decided months ago that she wanted her cake to look like a musical note, so I had a chance to be organised and take my time doing this cake. Continue reading

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

Just over a week left til the big V-Day! Have you found your sweetheart yet? I know that it falls in the middle of the working week, which isn’t very romantic, but I still decided to whip up some of the cupcakes that will be on offer for those of you feeling the lurrrrveee. Because what better way to say I love you, than with baked goods?

Obviously all cupcakes shown below went through rigorous taste testing controls….and my family, friends and I are pleased to confirm that these cupcakes are delicious nom nom nom!

First up is a classic vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream, in these cute heart-patterened cupcake cases. They can be ordered plain or topped with a sugarpaste heart as seen in the second image.

Next are these rich chocolate cupcakes with a chocolate buttercream swirl. Shown here with and without the sugarpaste heart topper.

Finally, no Valentines Day would be complete without Red Velvet cupcakes, topped with a cool, creamy, Cream cheese frosting.

The above are just some examples of what’s on offer this Valentines. There are loads more flavours, sprinkles, glitters and designs available. I’m happy to discuss any ideas you might have. So what are you waiting for, get in touch!!
